Last Blade 2 is my favorite game for the Neo Geo. It has all the qualities I always wanted in a game (or anime).... swords, samurais, spells... ~yep!

From what I know and understand, the story of Last Blade 2 continues from Last Blade 1. In Last Blade 1, there are 4 'beings' (or whatever they are called): Seiryuu of the North, Suzaku of the South, Genbu of the East, and Byakko of the West. Each of these beings help protect the seal to the ultimate evil being. One day, Kagami, guardian of Suzaku, was power crazed or something and decided to unleash the seal confining the ulitmate evil. The game centers around 3 main characters:

Kaede Moriya Yuki

They are adopted siblings, raised by their master, Kouryu. One day while they were away, Kouryu was mysteriously murdered. Moriya was the first to see his master in a near-death condition. Moriya was able to learn that the killer was Kagami before his master was at his final breath of life. Kaede and Yuki returned and found Moriya with their now-dead master. At that moment, the two thought that Moriya had killed Kouryu. Moriya said nothing and left. Several years later, Kaede and Yuki went searching for Moriya, while Moriya was searching for Kagami (for revenge, of course). In the end, Kaede and Yuki realized who the real killer was, and Kagami was stopped..In Last Blade 2, the story was vague since the intro didn't mention anything about the storyline. The story in this game takes place a couple of years after the first one. For some reason, the ultimate evil appears and the 3 main characters are out to stop it. Yeah, I know, that sounds like a plain storyline. Well, the ending sounds much better though. Here's the 'general' ending. It turns out that this ultimate evil is really Kouryu who returns from the dead. He weilds all the power of the 4 beings. Well, after he is defeated, his identity is revealed to the 3 main characters. Kouryu regains his senses upon his defeat. He regrets not being alive to see Kaede, Moriya, and Yuki mature into adults. To everyone's surprise (Kaede and Moriya), Yuki is revealed as the Vanishing Virgin. She says her goodbyes and sacrifices herself to close the seal. Kouryu turns into a bright light and is pulled up into the hole in the sky, where the seal was. Afterwards, everthing is quite once again. It begins to snow. Kaede and Moriya stand there looking at the snow.. Yuki is gone.. All that remains of her is her head band lying on the snow-covered ground...

Wow, that was a cool ending...
